Is it possible to go around the world in only 80 days? Mr Sullivan hurls this simple question at Willy Fog in London's Reform club, and challenges him to a wager to prove it. When Willy Fog accepts, a hazardous count-down begins. It means that our phlegmatic gentleman hero, accompanied by his inseperable companions Rigodon and Tico, and later by his beloved Princess Romy, has to travel by train, by ship, by elephant and even by balloon in order to prove that it is possible to go around the world in record time.

Did you know... the theme song was celebrated on "National Willy Fog Day" which took place on April 28, 1988, when Andy Crane (the presenter of Children's BBC at the time) sent copies of the lyrics of the song to anyone who wanted them for a mass singalong of the theme tune (the previous year, something similar happened with The Mysterious Cities of Gold).
